Top 5 Fantasy Busts To Not Draft In Fantasy Football 2023
Who are some players you need to avoid drafting in your 2023 fantasy football leagues if you have any intention of winning your leagues?
1.) D’Andre Swift
D’Andre Swift may be in the best offensive system in the entire NFL but he cannot maintain his healthy and will have to fight for carries with Rashaad Penny, who has a better skill set. Swift is going as the RB24, higher than Penny, when Penny is better and Swift cannot stay healthy. If you plan on drafting an Eagles RB do not draft Swift as he is inconsistent and can’t be relied on if fantasy. As you high end RB2 draft someone like Rachaad White instead, who is clearly the lead back in his offense with a garbage QB. He will dominate in fantasy, but Swift definitely won’t, do not draft Swift.
2.) Miles Sanders
Miles Sanders was super successful in that Eagles offense. He finished as a top 5 rusher in the NFL and he also finished as the RB10 in fantasy. However, Sanders was playing in one of the easiest systems in the NFL, behind the best offensive line in the league. This year, that is definitely not that case in Carolina this year. With a rookie QB and a below average WR core, RB Miles Sanders is going to be a “bell cow back” and carry a heavy work load. However, he isn’t capable of carrying this workload as he is a below average back, the only reason he was able to be one of the best in the league last year was because of the system he was in. He definitely will not be that good this year and he is not worth the draft pick, as he is going as the RB20.
3.) Keenan Allen
Keenan Allen isn’t half the player he used to be, and there is no point of taking a chance on him in round 5 when he target share is going to be way down given the addition of Quentin Johnston. Between Allen, Williams and now Johnston, there will be a lot of targets to go around this offense. Allen is also coming off an injury riddled season, having only played ten games. With guys like Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, and Terry McLaurin all still likely on the board by that point, I would rather draft them given the uncertainty of Allen’s situation in LA.

4.) James Cook
Dating back to his days at Georiga, James Cook has never been the type of running back to take a significant amount of carries and lead a backfield. So what is going to change this year? Nothing. This is clearly a pass first offense, and veteran Damien Harris will most likely split carries with Cook. Do not take Cook, please. If you are going to take a RB around the 90th overall pick, take AJ Dillion or Alvin Kamara, just not Cook.
